Trunk Shows, a New Mystery and a Special Needlepoint Sale

Hi, all! As promised, here's the Saturday Scoop on events and new arrivals in the shop. Trunk show of Blackberry Lane designs: Here's the 2012 ornament,"The Carolers." This is the model and it's more beautiful and rich than the photo could possibly show. It's not hard, even though it's stitched over one, and you always have the option of stitching it over two.

As I am always susceptible to a beautifully stitched model, I caved in and purchased last year's ornament--"Midnight Ride." It's charted for 28 count fabric using DMC (I bought cashel in a deep cream color, but the color doesn't matter because it's all filled in. I love the cashel, by the way, and it's very easy to see, even over 1). And the charting is impeccable--no guesswork here.

There is a series of these (see the others in our banner photo).

This design will be out later this summer.

We love this little pineapple ornament. Very Williamsburg-y.

Can you believe these two? I want to stitch them also.

Anatomy of an ort pail--there are four seasonal designs for this pail.

We sell the empty pail. You stitch the design.

Line it (this is perfectly done, with little pockets) and put your orts in it. Or another treasure. Maybe your Dominos coupons, because with these great designs, who wants to waste time cooking dinner?

Stitch a lid design/pin cushion and stick some cute pins in it (we sell lots of cute pins).

Here's a Halloween design.

Speaking of Halloween, this new Lizzie Kate Mystery Sampler will be released in three "spooky" parts. We don't know what it will look like, but we know it will use Weeks Dye Works fibers and the dimensions will be 95x238 stitches. There will be a bonus pattern each of the three months. Give us a call (703-360-4600) if you'd like to sign up! The first release will ship in late June for those who sign up.

Here is our other Trunk Show: Painted Pony designs. We have tons and tons of them, each more beautiful than the last. The Christmas designs are my favorites, but if you're a fan of the angels and their charms, we have lots of those as well. Here are just four of the designs. All of the Painted Pony and Kirk & Hamilton canvases are 20% off, whether you purchase in the shop or give us a call to order.

These Moon Santas are part of a series.

There are two different series of the Twelve Days of Christmas.

This can be purchased in either the large or small size. When completed, it's a standup. We have a wonderful finishing service that can make that happen for you.

We have lots of great designs to stitch. This is "Emma Richardson" by Samplers Revisited--as a shop model.

We want to show you the adorable rabbit that Mary, one of our shop ladies, stitched for herself and had finished by our finishing service.

Here's a close-up. Don't know how to do needlepoint? Our wonderful shop ladies are patient and creative and can help you get started. There are several needlepoint canvases calling to me, and I know I can count on one of them to help me choose fibers and point me in the right direction so that I'm not lost or frustrated by the process.

Here's a little show-and-tell from our last Stitch Night: Minnie is working on these African Women.

Also on Stitch Night we said so long and good luck to March, who has retired (lucky girl) and is moving all her stitching to a new place in Florida. She's promised to come back or at least Skype on Stitch Nights. We're going to miss her!

For questions or to order, please all us at 703-360-4600. Our hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and while the Woodlawn Needlework Show is going on, we'll be open every Sunday from 12:30-4:30. Remember that the Woodlawn show is not open on Tuesdays (although we are!) Stitch Nights are the first and third Wednesdays of the month.

Happy Stitching!
