Greetings, all! We have lots of new items in the shop that we brought back from the Baltimore show! But first, take a look at Karen's progress on the Sam Sarah "Witch's Pantry" project. Yes, we sell this frame! (the pins you see are framing in progress, and are temporary). Love the frame, the color of the fabric and the whole design!


Brand new: "Two Cheeky Sailors" by Queenstown Sampler Designs. What gorgeous floss colors.

It called to me, so I bought it! It is charted for DMC, but I really prefer silk, so I did an easy conversion to AVAS and NPI. Let us know if you'd like it, and we'll provide you with the conversion. I purchased 1/8th of a yard of Lakeside Linen in Magnolia, 40 count, the silk threads, the pattern and these nifty scissors, which I love to death. They're inexpensive and the little sheath snaps on so that you aren't--yikes--stabbing your project in the project bag as you move around. I carry a couple of project bags everywhere with me, and I leave the fancy gold scissors at home. These are great, sharp little cutters, too and come in a variety of colors (pink, purple & blue).

We have Praiseworthy Stitches' "Croaking Toad Manor."


And a helpful Jack O Lantern to hold your floss. I posed him on top of some beautiful Weeks Dye Works' linen in 30 count "Pumpkin."


We were exclaiming over this wonderful Christmas design from Praiseworthy Stitches: the outer red border is stitched with sparkly Kreinik. I enjoy stitching with blingy thread.


We have lots of new Rosewood Manor charts in the shop. Here is "Willow Welcome."


And the Country Cottage patterns of the month march on as the year begins to come to an end: September and October shop models.


A new-to-me designer, iStitch Designs.

We have the Sam Sarah Perpetual Calendar with the frame, the cards and of course, the charts! The way it works: stitch the day of the week, the month, spacer and a number (in this case, Tuesday, January *space* One).


We have some new and incredible needlepoint canvases. Here, two of our many Christmas stockings. Stitch them for your kids, your grandkids or yourself. These will become heirlooms in your hands, passed from generation to generation, and displayed every Christmas.



No time for a big stocking? We have a raft of these little boat bags with various designs. When you've completed the little needlepoint design, we can send it off to our finishing service to be made into this little boatbag, which LL Bean made famous. The canvas comes with the coordinating ribbons that form the handles. What a lovely way to present earrings or an Itunes gift card to a friend or a daughter for Christmas.


See? Eat. Sleep. Stitch. These come as tees, in various sizes, or sleep shirts (with a vee neck) in one-size-fits-most.

What's New in the Shop, and Nearly Fall

The fall ornament on our blog header is part of a chart of four seasons. Here's the spring one. Don't you love these? I've had them in my collection for years and have started one. We still have them in stock (darned if I can remember the name, but call the shop, and one of our clever ladies will know!)


Speaking of clever ladies: just look at the amazing little Nantucket basked that Linda needlepointed! Something else amazing about Linda's many skills: she actually weaves Nantucket baskets!

Lois, one of our ladies, stitched this for her collection. And it just came back from finishing. I absolutely adore the dark plum feathers, don't you? I'm sorry that I didn't get a better close-up shot--it's quite fun and remarkable. We can arrange for our finishing service to do something like this for you!


We have lots of appealing new Haloween projects in the shop. This one is by Waxing Moon.

Dog Days of Summer

Greetings, all! If you're like us, you're tired of gazing out onto parched dry grass and discouraged flowers. I enjoyed looking at the ornaments on the little tree by our register and counting down the months 'til Christmas.


We have lots of new Mill Hill kits featuring tropical Santas, as well as more traditional Christmas and winter designs.

A new shop model. I wanted to show you this beautiful laquered red frame--I'm already plotting ways I could use it. Perfect for Christmas. I'm thinking of red birds... Or, as here, a patriotic stitch.


We have a new line of zippered totes and bags, crystal clear and substantial, with our name, address, phone, email and logo (just so you don't forget us...)


Wouldn't this be perfect for that new male child or grandson? Love the robot!

This is the beginning of a six-part project from Sam Sarah. We will be selling the frame for it as pictured on the package. And we love that the called-for fabric, which we show here, is EXACTLY the color of the design on the chart.


And a great Halloween project from Rosewood Manor: great colors, a fabulous design and an adorable spider charm, shown in the upper left corner of the photo.


Rosalie was working on this between customers today at the shop. I'm thinking this would be a nice gift for me! Seriously, Rosalie's needlepoint skills are beyond compare and anyone who gets one of her stitched gifts is very lucky indeed.
