Happy Saturday night, all! We have tons more things to show you! Remember that we're open on Sunday from 12:30 to 4:30 and on Monday from 10-2. Call us to order or for questions: 703-360-4600. First, I wanted to show you the lower branches of our little Christmas tree, which was lit and all Christmas-y, in spite of the sun and the 90-degree temps! Lots of the Sheep ornaments:
Most of today's photos are of smaller projects. First off, though, here are some of the beautifully crafted Shaker boxes for the Lone Elm Lane designs I showed you on the first Market post.
Here's another of the larger JBW Designs, "Giving Thanks."
By Hands On Design, "A Proper Young Lady."
We have lots of new designs by With Thy Needle and Thread, including the limited edition piece. Here, "Paper Snowflakes."
Here's an absolutely wonderful needlepoint project--a two-sided bird ornament. Stitch it up (and if you're new to needlepointing and don't feel up to selecting the fibers because there are so many possible choices, let us choose for you). Once you've stitched the two sides, bring us the bird, and we can send it off to our finishing service, who will expertly stitch the bird together, attach the tail and the clip, and you will have a gorgeous Christmas ornament.
I love this Woody project. Although it was meant to be a belt (we can have it finished for you that way), I would stitch it, frame it and hang it. Love the colors.
"Santa's New Elves" Christmas pillow or ornament.
I really, really wanted to buy this. It's an octopus needle minder. So adorable.
Abby Rose Designs' "Bless this House."
Another fabulous design by With Thy Needle and Thread: "Pumpkin Brew."
"Winter Awwwe" by Needle Bling Designs. I tried showing it people and they agreed: "Awwwwwwe."
Want to stitch fall items? We have lots of new things for fall. Here, a small but gorgeous little pumpkin project(s): Pumpkin Potpourri by Scissor Tail Design.
Last tonight, "Noel," a darling kit by Chessie and Me.
See you again soon with another Market post!
Our address: 8800 F Pear Tree Court, Alexandria, VA.
Happy Stitching!

More from Market
Happy Friday evening of a long weekend, all! Remember that our hours this weekend are 10-5 Saturday, 12:30-4:30 on Sunday and 10-2 on Monday, Labor Day. Call us for questions, to order or directions to the store: 703-360-4600.
"Moon and Spider Apple Cider" from NeedleWork Press.
By Cherished Stitches, "A Quaker Family Tree."
Pineberry Lane's "Mary Ann Suckling." Poor Mary Ann. I wonder if they had bullies in 1846 who made her life miserable.
"Be Merry," by Amy Bruecken Designs. What a jolly group.
Cherished Stitches' "Bunny to Go." I was photographing quickly, but I think he comes with a little box.
The much wished-for "Yuletide Welcome" by Plum Street.
A beautiful pair of reproduction samplers by Samplers Revisited. A close-up of the shop model "Fianna Grube 1849." Fianna was from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Her colors are calming--I love the blue with the brown.
A photo of her alphabet, which we love.
And here's the photo of the whole sampler, from the Samplers Revisited website, which turned out better than mine.
Also from Samplers Revisited, the vibrant and colorful Marrion Alexander McKie 1859. Marrion's sampler is Scottish, hence the brights. Again, photo borrowed from Samplers Revisited's website.
New project totes. They're great--sturdy, attractive and large enough to tote along a couple of projects.
Limited edition Blackbird Designs projects in delightful little buckets--call and get yours--don't miss out! ("Never Far Apart" stocking and "October 31" pin cushion.
Delightfully dotty fabric from a new fabric purveyor: Fabric Flair. I got a chance to look at the group of colors displayed on the fabric counter: lovely, subtle mottled mauve, blue, green. This spotted fabric is used in one of the JBW designs I'll show you next time.
New colors by Wichelt, in both linen and aida fabrics. Aida fans have frequently told us that they are disappointed not to have as many color choices as the linen fans, and Wichelt listened!!
Market was needlepoint as well as cross stitch, and of course, we sell both. We love these designs, and they're simple to stitch even if you've never needlepointed before. Think of what fun these would be as gifts.
And a stitched model:
Our address is 8800 F Pear Tree Court in the Mount Vernon area of Alexandria, on Route 1.
We'll be back with more photos throughout the weekend--we still have lots to share!
Happy stitching!

Back from Market with the Goodies!
Banner photo: stitched model is "Jack" by All Through the Night, who is standing next to Plum Street Samplers' chart of "A Lady's Trimkeep and Companion."
Greetings, all! The ladies arrived back from St. Louis riding on the roof so they could stuff extra charts and gizmos and gadgets and fabric and canvases in the truck. This is the first of several market posts. Look for post #2 late tomorrow night. Before I forget: our hours this weekend are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday. Come visit! Call us (703-360-4600) and we'll pop it in the mail to you if you live far away or can't make it in.
This is just a tiny sample of the wonderfully creative, interesting, beautifully done items at the show. "Arc of White" by Tempting Tangles. A beaded spider is part of the design; you can just do the little spider and a portion of the web if you'd rather.
"The Siren" by Knotted Tree.
"Summer Quakers" by Rosewood Manor. You can get this with or without the Valdani threads--aren't they beautiful in their box? We were saying tonight it seemed a shame even to take them out of the box and stitch with them--they're that nice. And there's a special Picture This Plus fabric in a delightful pinky-rose-ivory mottled shade (my photo doesn't do it justice--it's much rosier in real life).
"Fish Stix" by Sam Sarah. Lots of fun designs by Sam Sarah--these guys are zany. And yes, we have the fish stands. The charts come with three little heart buttons.
"Noel Sampler" by With Thy Needle and Thread's Brenda Gervais. We have several of her designs--more in the next couple of days.
We're thrilled that JBW is doing some larger designs. Here, "Antique Vases Sampler." Love the little dogs in the first row. We have other large designs and some special fabrics too, which we'll show you in the coming days.
"Sisters" by Blackbird Designs.
Wouldn't you love to see inside the book? Here's a photo from inside. Wow!
Lone Elm Lane was new at market, at least in terms of designs. You may remember the beautifully crafted shaker boxes that displayed a Blackbird Designs' project. There are all these gorgeous designs, which can be stitched and framed, or put into the lids of one of these boxes. There's even a lid with a pop-out ring so that you can stitch all the designs but use just one box.
Amy Bruecken has lots of fun new charts, small and large. Here's a cutie that I'll stitch for my own tree. Wait 'til you see her adorable large Christmas design.
We have several very limited edition kits. Here, La-D-Da's Merry Christmas Angel kit.
And limited edition "Hoot" by Lizzie Kate.
Back tomorrow with more treats from St. Louis!
Again, call us at 703-360-4600 for questions or to order. We are at 8800 F Pear Tree Court in Alexandria, VA.

Sweet
Happy almost Sunday, everyone! I stopped by In Stitches to take a few photographs and wound up doing a little shopping. Lookie what I found! This chart, "Angels Among Us" by Examplars from the Heart is not new, but it is new to me. I bought it and kitted it up (40 count Lakeside Linen in Bisque and NPI silk floss) and sat down at the work table in the back room and started it. So fun and colorful!
"Mary Ann Farmer 1834," by Scarlett House, is new! I would like to stitch this also.
Have you noticed how summery these designs are? I'm hanging on to sweet summer with both hands, but there's no doubt the days are getting shorter. "May Basket," a tiny little project to stitch from Blackbird Designs. May seems so long ago, doesn't it?
Patriotic "Betsy's Stockings" by Plum Street Samplers.
"Good Morning" by Tempting Tangles.
"Summer, Quaker Seasons" by Remembering Bygone Stitches (Stitching Pretty).
We also have the Winter Quaker by the same designer.
Speaking of winter, we have this new, cute ornament decorating our little ornament tree, by Amy Bruecken Designs. I don't think you can tell from my photo, but it's stitched on sparkly white fabric. (I'd love to stitch a whole bunch of ornaments in this crystalline fabric.)
We have all the new fall magazines with Halloween and autumn projects galore.
Look carefully at the fabric for this adorable Amy Bruecken Halloween candy corn ornament. Sweet!
Speaking of sweet, take a look at what I found in the door of the shop fridge when I was rooting around looking for a diet Coke. No wonder we're such a sweet bunch!
We are located at 8800 F Pear Tree Court, Alexandria, VA. To order, or for questions, please call us at 703-360-4600. Our hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the first Sunday of the month, from 12:30 to 4:30. Stitch nights will resume on September 4.
Happy Stitching!
