Hi, Everyone! Easter is next week, and we have lots of spring- and Easter-related projects in the shop. Like this great rabbit, flowers and fish needlepoint canvas. I'd really like to stitch this.
Lots of new fabrics, too, for any project that catches your fancy.
This spring cutie by Just Nan would be the perfect little something for someone's Easter basket. It's a tiny tin with either a three-dimensional bird, nest and flowers or a bunny. Inside the tin is a little pin cushion.
This the the shop model of Raise the Roof Designs' limited edition kit, "Quilted Spring."
"Antique Animal Sampler" by Elizabeth's Needlework Designs. Note that "S" is illustrated by "Silly Monster."
I've started it, on 40 count ivory Italian linen, using the recommended WDW floss.
"Jenny Bean's Spring Sampler," by Shakespeare's Peddler. You can buy the chart alone, or purchase the fibers in a pack, ready to go.
For knitters, we have the latest Vogue Knitting in stock. What a lovely project inside! I'd like it knitted in yellow (and note all the scarves and shawls to the left as well).
Spring is for sheep and lambs: Shepherd's Bush "Sheep in a Garden" pillow with a nifty sheep button on the upper right. I want to stitch this cheery pillow and give it as a gift to someone who's under the weather.
A project and a little platter by Thomas Joseph. We have a variety of these adorable sheep-and-Scottish background kits.
And little platters to hold your needlework supplies or some sheep cookies?
And let's not forget the bunnies and the eggs! "Happy Bunny Day" by Val's Stuff.
A Shepherd's Bush Easter Egg pillow--not new, but a sweet classic.
"Eggs a la Round" which came out last year but bears repeating. I have seen this stitched up. The package photo doesn't do it justice. Along with the bright Easter egg colors are multiple shades of sparkly Kreinik. Very pretty and worth your time.
Something new and something classic by the Cricket Collection. "Easter," and...
..."Leaping Rabbit" shown with the fabric and buttons below.
And this last shop model. Miss Easter Rabbit looks a little stern, but she's holding a lovely embroidered three-dimensional purse. You don't need to get into a kerfluffle about finishing this challenging piece--we have someone who can do that for you beautifully, leaving you free to stitch.
The shop is closed today but will reopen tomorrow. Our hours are 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12:30 to 4:30 on the first Sunday of the month (normally). Stitch Nights are the first and third Sundays of the month.
For questions or to order, please call us at 703-360-4600.
Happy Easter and Happy Stitching!

And More: Nashville Goodes IV
Greetings, All! We have lots more Nashville charts and kits for your enjoyment:
Patricia stitched this cutie-pie Adam & Eve pendant, by the Primitive Jewel, for the shop.
Blackbird Designs limited edition kit: "Wild Garden" in a tin. We have just a few of these left and we won't be able to get more. Give us a call to snag one.
Two lovely samplers in "quiet" shades: "Faithful Friend" by Pineberry Lane...
...and from the Jefferson County History Center, "Susanna Kearney Sampler 1826."
"A Christmas Dutch Sewing Set" by Giulia Punti Antichi, which includes the linen fabric (also Italian, and very beautiful) and the flower treasure.
Black Branch Needlework's "Ann Lockart 1842."
Praiseworthy Stitches' "Winter at Beacon House." We have the recommended Lakeside Winter Sky fabric for this in different counts.
"Beauty in Simplicity" by Blue Ribbon Designs.
"Gather Ye Tulips" by Heartstring Samplery.
Lots of reds in the shop: "Pomegranate Study" by NeedleWorkPress.
And by Ink Circles--well, darn. I have chopped off the name.
"Dogwood Lace" by Rosewood Manor.
So many beautiful colors of fabric. These are just a few of our "remnants," most of them the perfect size for stitching smalls or ornaments. The colors and manufacturers and threadcounts change by the day. Check the fabric counter often, because there's always something new and they don't last long.
Everyone who saw this fabric in person exclaimed over it. Although the mottling is bold, it lends itself to lots of designs and projects. By Picture This Plus.
Speaking of colors: Rosalie, helping a customer select just the perfect fiber shades for a gorgeous new needlepoint flower canvas. Confused or uncertain about choosing colors or having enough fiber for your needlepoint project? Come in and let an experienced needlepointer make suggestions. I love watching the selection process for a really huge project with lots of details and textures.
To order or for questions, please call as at 703-360-4600. Our hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 12:30-4:30 on the first Sunday of the month. Stitch Nights are the first and third Wednesdays of the month.
Next time: some Easter charts and canvases!

They Came, They Saw, They....Nashville Goodes III
Our banner photo is of the model for Mary Ann Mossom by Samplers Revisited (we love their matching checkered briefs):
We had a fine crowd for the Nashville Market event today!
There was lots of fabric!
Thread shopping!
Food!
We run with scissors! We carry this chart, by Amy Bruecken.
Prizes!
We got to look at Patricia's Shoes! (She says they're quite comfortable.)
Exquisite little decoupaged pendants.
We want to leave you with these jaw-dropping images. One of our customers picked up her framed Heaven and Earth Designs. She stitched it in two years. Isn't it glorious?
Ahhhhhhh.
All we can say is that we wished we could stitch faster.
To order or for questions, you can reach us at 703-360-4600. Our hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12:30 to 4:30 on the first Sunday of the month. Stitch nights are the first and third Wednesdays of the month (which means there's one this week, on March 7).

Nashville Goodes Part II
Greetings, all! We recently heard from one of our dear international readers, who gently corrected an error we made about this designer: Marie Suarez. She is Belgian, not French, as I had noted in our February 9 post. We're so thrilled that we have international readers!
Don't forget that we're open this Sunday, March 4, with food, fun, friends and stitching fiends. (pssst--and prizes.) We'll be open from 12:30-4:30.
You need one of these Lantern Moon sheep to cheer you on as you stitch, don't you? He's about 8 inches tall and has a heavy weighted bottom so he doesn't fall off your stitching table.
Two more by Rosewood Manor: "Flowers, Awake" and
"Old Glory"
"A to Z" designs by Erica Michaels. Stitch it up and pop it in the frame and proudly wear your work. We sell the pendant frame (in the net bag).
Are you a cat person? Take a look at this wonderful cat project, complete with treasures. By Rovaris.
New needle threaders from JABCO: "doggy" and "kitty."
I love the brilliant blue house at the bottom of this sampler: "Alsop Family Record Sampler" by NeedleWorkPress.
I plan to acquire these two from The Stiching Parlor. "Good Morning Sunshine!"
And "Persuasion." I like the verse: "If a man has not a wife he soon wants to be afloat again." I know some men with wives (and some women with husbands) who would prefer to be floating again, but we won't quibble.
As we mentioned before, there were lots of Adam and Eves at the show. I so want an Adam & Eve sampler wall. "Mary Ann Mossom 1821" by Samplers Revisited would be a great start.
"Ann Wheatley" by NeedleWorkPress
"Eve and Adam Sampler" by Cherished Stitches.
New project bags (not just for knitters) from Hiya Hiya. I want one just so I can refer to it as my Hiya Hiya. Try a Hiya Hiya! Buy a Hiya Hiya! (Yeah, I'm hilarious; I'm quite sure they're tired of me here.)
We have lots of new Picture This Plus fabrics in delicious colors.
We have lots of these beautiful Lantern Moon zippered pouches. A customer in the shop while I was photographing them remarked that they'd be great little jewelry containers for travel.
Lots of new and quirky/fun charts from Prarie Moon: "The House That Jacks Built II":
Remember last year's "Thine is the Trick and the Treat?" This year's design is: "No, Mine! is the Trick and the Treat." I've started the first one and want to do this and hang it next to the other one!
"They Will too Fit Under the Seat!" Look carefully at the shoes.
See any shoe similarity? LOL! This is one of Ellen's purchases in Nashville. We don't sell these in the shop, unfortunately. Kicky!
